The national government made this official through a decree published in the Official Gazette the intervention of the public media and appointed a
former manager of Grupo América and a former member of the Council of the Judiciary
as its interveners.
According to the text published on Friday,
Diego Chaher and Diego Marías
, appointed auditor and deputy auditor, respectively, will be in charge of the management of Educ.Ar Sociedad del Estado, the Télam news agency, Radio y Televisión SE (the firm which contains Public TV, National Radio and state FM) and the firm Public Contents, which contains the signals Encuentro, Paka Paka, DeporTV, Acua Mayor and Acua Federal, in addition to the Audiovisual Production Pole and the Audiovisual Bank of Universal Contents Argentine (BACUA).
Chaher is a lawyer from Mendoza who currently served as director of legal affairs for Grupo Supercanal-Airlink and was
corporate manager of Grupo América
for almost 20 years
.
After graduating as a lawyer from the University of Belgrano in 1997, he completed a master's degree in Business Law from the Universidad Católica de Cuyo - Senior Management School of Business in Mendoza, in 2000, and other postgraduate studies.
For his part, Marías, also a lawyer, was a Buenos Aires legislator and Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Education of the City Government during the administration of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.
As a legislator
he was key in drafting the Buenos Aires Electoral Code
, while serving as president of the Constitutional Affairs Commission.
After his time in the Legislature and the Buenos Aires Government, he was sworn in in November 2020 as a member of the Council of the Judiciary, representing the lawyers of the Federal Capital.
Active on social networks, Marías spoke out days ago in favor of the Omnibus Law, sharing Diego Santilli's presentation in Congress, in which the PRO deputy pointed out that the reforms "come out of abandonment, end the privileges of a few and make the necessary changes for Argentina".

The
intervention is set for a period of one year
and the designated officials take the role of the boards of directors of the state media that will remain under their orbit.
Thus, they will replace Bernarda Llorente in Télam, Rosaura Audi in Public Contents (simultaneously, she had also been Alberto Fernández's Undersecretary of Media) and the board headed by Javier Monte in RTA.
As
Clarín
reported , the decree was signed late this Friday by the head of state and the Minister of the Interior.
It is Milei's first management measure in the public media, since until now he had not appointed anyone there and the appointments of Llorente and Audi had been extended twice.
Although the term of the intervention is for 12 months, the Executive established that said period
may "be extended only once"
by the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, which is commanded by Nicolás Posse.
In the exercise of their positions, the auditor and his deputy will both have the powers that the respective statutes of the intervened companies confer on the board of directors and/or its president.
