A recycling center located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas caught fire this Saturday late in the afternoon.
The column of dense black smoke rose and covered a sector of the south of the City of Buenos Aires.
City Firefighters received an emergency call to attend to the fire on a property located in Herrera at 2,200, a few meters from Riachuelo.
Four fire crews attended, as the flames spread widely.
Due to the large amount of heat and gusts of wind, the site's shed was giving way and arteries were cut preventively and a 200-meter security perimeter was deployed.
As a result of the fire, a dense black column could be seen from different neighborhoods of the City.
In addition, the smell of smoke was felt in sectors of southern Buenos Aires.
Personnel from SAME and the 4D Neighborhood Police Station also participate in the operation.
