The vast majority, including Democrats, did not want Joe Biden to run for president.
The reason is simple: if he is elected in November, at the end of a long and grueling campaign which began for him this Saturday with the primary in South Carolina, the 46th President of the United States will be 82 years old at the start of his second term, 86 years at the end… if all goes well.
The oldest president before him was named Ronald Reagan and he was “only” 77 years old when he left the White House in 1989, already weakened by Alzheimer's disease.
