Shabbat news summary:

Today (Saturday) the IDF forces continued to deepen the attacks in the Gaza Strip and the northern arena. All this, against the background of the progress in talks with the mediators regarding the signing of a broad deal that will lead to the release of the abductees. Also, last weekend a red alarm was sounded In the Gaza Strip, for the first time it is four days.

The Hamas leadership hesitates to respond to the Israeli proposal

Last week, as I recall, the political summit was held in Paris, where the Israeli proposal for a deal that would resettle a significant portion of the abductees was officially discussed.

Hamas, for its part, has not yet delivered its official response to the mediators, but the discussion regarding the expected deal is intensifying.

According to a report in the "Wall Street Journal" newspaper, Sinwar supports a six-week ceasefire in the fighting, while Niyya demands a permanent ceasefire.

Not only that, the Qatari newspaper "Al-Arabi Al-Jadid" reported today (Saturday) from Egyptian sources about the postponement of the visit of the Hamas delegation led by Ismail Haniyeh to Cairo, following the terrorist organization's demand.

A senior Hamas official told the newspaper that the visit was postponed following consultations with other Palestinian terrorist organizations in Gaza, against the background of the position presented after the meeting of the intelligence chiefs in Paris last Sunday.

The official added in a conversation with the Qatari newspaper that since the acceptance of the offer there has been extensive consultation at the level of the military and political leadership of Hamas.

He also denied that there are any disputes within the terrorist organization and warned against "reports that Israeli elements are behind."

Earlier today, it was reported by sources in Hamas that the organization expanded the consultations regarding the proposal for a prisoner exchange deal with Israel, and gave a copy of the outline to the Islamic Jihad organization to study the proposal and hold a discussion around it.

The sources told the newspaper that the consultations between the Hamas leadership abroad and the Hamas leadership in the Gaza Strip are "difficult" and need more time, which to some extent delays the formulation of the official and final answer to the proposal.

The sources stated that the general direction regarding the proposal is positive, but it requires comments and corrections.

However, it should be emphasized that the newspaper continued to report that it reported that Hamas is inclined to accept the mediators' proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza, even though it does not include a complete cessation of the war.

According to the report, the leaders of Hamas will be satisfied with international guarantees that the war will end in the near future - and in addition they will demand to determine which prisoners will be released.

At the same time as the differences of opinion at the top of Hamas regarding the deal, the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed Abd al-Rahman al-Thani, met in New York with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.

The two discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and ways to bring supplies to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

He also emphasized the "important role of UNRWA" and warned of the "catastrophic consequences" of stopping funding for the Palestinian Refugee Agency

The IDF is intensifying the attacks

The IDF continues to increase the rate of attacks in the south of the Gaza Strip, with the Khan Yunis area at the center of its activity. The reserve fighters of the 5th Brigade located an underground tunnel containing a tunnel, along with other weapons that were confiscated and destroyed.

Throughout Shabbat, it was announced that in over 1500 activities, the fighters of the operational mobility school evacuated many fighters who were injured in the Gaza Strip.

The quick evacuation saves their lives.

The fighters carry out complicated missions under fire, deep in enemy territory.

They move tens of thousands of fighters to and from the Strip and are in continuous contact with the maneuvering forces and the medical units in the territory of the country.

The unit is a connecting thread between the interior of the Gaza Strip and the territory of Israel.

Also, dozens of terrorists were killed over the weekend throughout the Gaza Strip.

Fighters from the 414 collection unit identified in the north of the Gaza Strip a terrorist squad transporting weapons, an aircraft eliminated the squad after a short time.

At the same time as the activity in the southern arena, IDF warplanes attacked in the north two observation posts in the areas of Marvin and Ita al-Sha'ab next to a military headquarters in the Yaron area, where terrorists of the terrorist Hezbollah organization operated, as well as a launch site from which launches were launched into the territory of the country. The attacks in Lebanon were carried out in response to three launches that crossed from the territory of Lebanon to the areas of Baram and Zareit and fell in open areas. There were no casualties from the shooting.

In addition, near the beginning of Shabbat, the Minister of Defense, Yoav Galant, finished a visit to the alpinists' unit in Hermon and said: "If Hezbollah thinks that when there is a ceasefire in the south we will stop firing against them - they are greatly mistaken.

I am saying here explicitly - as long as we do not reach a situation where the residents of the north can be safely returned, we will not stop."
