A note that really gives you goosebumps: A North Sea vacationer shows a message from her stay in Amrum in July and remembers the deceased who gave it to her.

Norddorf - Detlef Boyens was a real legend on the North Sea island of Amrum.

Many people only knew his nickname “Pimo”.

He was known for his friendliness, his wisdom, but of course also because of his job, which brought him into contact with many vacationers: According to company information, Boyens put the first beach chairs on the sea in Norddorf in 1956 and always built the “Strandkörbe Boyens” rental company with his family continues to expand, which not only rents out its special pieces, but also sells them.

Amrum vacationer shows goosebumps message from July and reminds us of “Pimo”

A user in an Amrum Facebook group remembered this person.

She reported a special incident “in memory of Mr. Boyens.”

He gave her his thoughts in July.

This cannot be verified, but there is nothing to indicate that it is a fake.

Apparently he left her a piece of wisdom handwritten on the back of her beach chair receipt.

Or she wrote them down herself so as not to forget them, and now rediscovered them months later.

It reads: “The time I thought I was giving to my children was actually the most beautiful time I was given.”

The North Sea vacationer posted these photos in an Amrum Facebook group.

A real goosebumps message.

This seems even more upsetting when you consider that “Pimo” died a few months later.

In December, his family announced on their Facebook page that they had to say goodbye to him: “Pimo - forever in our hearts.

Today our father, grandfather and great-grandpa Pimo fell asleep peacefully and left us.

We are all very sad and at the same time filled with gratitude for the many years together.

Pimo was the heart of our family and our beach chair rental.

He will always be with us in our hearts and watching over the beach.”

“Pimo” was very popular with visitors to the North Sea island of Amrum

The comments showed how popular “Pimo” was.

Hundreds responded.

A selection: "Our condolences - he was always friendly and accommodating to his guests", "A veteran of Amrum, we chatted in the summer", "A really fine guy who you can hardly find anymore in his style and personality", “Pimo had a joy for life and warmth that was extraordinary” and “We will always remember him when we walk past your beach chair and miss his daily words of wisdom!” Because the sayings were another trademark, legendary for customers, for example written with chalk on the blackboard.

Even in the obituary published in the SHZ

, Boyens was seen in a beach chair - it was the black and white photo (see above) that his family also published on Facebook.

“Pimo” in quotation marks could be read there under his name.

Just like you knew him.

“A great free spirit, rest in peace”: Amrum original “Pimo” remains unforgotten even around two months after his death

An Amrum supporter also remembers “Pimo” and his wisdom in the new posting in the Facebook group: “Unforgettable and several times in winter early in the morning on the Odde with his bike all alone (as an early riser, my first lap of the day was there almost always alone and such beautiful shells).

A great free spirit, rest in peace and thank you very much for the beautiful booklet with the sayings that you could buy in the store in Norddorf back then.” “Pimo” remains unforgotten not only in the memories, but also through his sentences that resonate deeply with many have touched.

A world star is likely to appear more often on the island of Sylt.
