When his wife filed for divorce after 22 years of marriage, a 47-year-old became violent.

That's why he now had to answer before the Weilheim district court.

Peißenberg - It didn't take long before the defendant's defense attorney announced his client's confession.

The Turk apologized several times in court and stated through his interpreter that he wanted to restore peace in the family as much as possible and help his 41-year-old ex-wife, since they had been married for 22 years before the divorce.

The incidents happened some time ago.

It all started when the wife filed divorce papers.

According to his own statements, the 47-year-old knew nothing about his wife's legal action.

When he finally found the papers, “he knew she was serious,” the defense attorney completed one of his client’s attempts to articulate.

At first the argument started verbally, then the defendant became physical

Although he didn't actually consume alcohol, he drank two or three beers that day - also due to "personal problems".

This should by no means be seen as an excuse, but it did, however, lower the inhibition threshold, noted the defense attorney.

The confrontation with his then wife began with verbal attacks.

However, the argument soon escalated and the defendant became violent.

Since the court refrained from making extensive statements from the injured party on the witness stand due to the full confession, the report on the events of the crime comes entirely from the indictment.

According to the admitted accusation, the Peißenberg man first grabbed his then-wife and made her fall.

He then hit her with both the flat of his hand and his clenched fist.

However, the accusation of grievous bodily harm resulted primarily from the man's further actions in the course of which he kicked his victim.

“Significant injuries” were possible, particularly because he was wearing shoes, the public prosecutor said.

Husband abused wife so badly that she suffered bruises, bruises and headaches

When the victim was able to briefly escape his clutches, the 41-year-old fled towards the bedroom.

Driven by raging anger, the 47-year-old kicked down the door.

As a result, the accused snatched the expensive smartphone from his victim and threw it to the ground.

He then continued to abuse the woman.

The court said the attack only finally came to an end when they remembered their children.

The result of the tantrum: a bruised skull, knee and hand as well as “bruises on the face and a severe headache,” the injured party completed the medical certificate.

But the psychological process of processing the events had “taken a long time,” explained the woman.

“What’s done is done,” was her response to her ex-husband’s apologies.

Those involved in the proceedings agreed to a shift in the punishment range due to a perpetrator-victim settlement of 3,000 euros that had already been paid.

There is no doubt about the crime and its consequences.

“You were lucky to have such a nice public prosecutor,” remarked Judge Isabelle von Heydebrand and sentenced the man to a fine of 2,700 euros.

This can’t happen anymore.” By Florian Zerhoch
