“We will remember the birth of Nolan,”
emphasizes Johanne Le Gallic, 26, to our colleagues in
Ouest-France
.
“It makes for great memories
,” she adds.
Thursday February 1, Julien Dervout, 25, her partner, urgently drove her from Trégunc (Finistère), where they live, to the Quimper maternity ward.
Alas, at 8:15 a.m. the usual traffic jams, due to rush hour, brought together farmers' demonstrations.
The observation is clear: the couple will not arrive at the hospital in time.
Neither one, nor two, Johanne Le Gallic takes matters in hand:
“I asked Julien to move my passenger seat back, I got into position as best I could and I gave birth in the car
,” confides - she to our colleagues
“We were each in our role: Julien was focused on driving, especially since there were traffic jams, and I was focused on my baby,”
continues the mother.
I was a little scared at the end because the umbilical cord was wrapped around Nolan's head and he didn't cry right away because he was having trouble breathing.
I spread the cord a little to help him breathe
.
The baby was born after the Kerustum roundabout, one kilometer from the hospital.
The mother was taken into hospital care, while big brother Sacha, almost two years old, met Nolan.
Johanne must stay a few more days in the maternity ward, but the father, Julien, is preparing to leave for Abidjan, in Ivory Coast, where he is a fisherman.
