Reduced board at Raiffeisenbank im Oberland eG: Manfred Gasteiger, Manfred Klaar and Johannes Paul will lead the regional cooperative bank in the future.

The previous CEO, Hansjörg Hegele, took early retirement at the end of 2023.

Farewell to retirement

The CEO of Raiffeisenbank im Oberland, Hansjörg Hegele, said goodbye with the words “with a heart full of gratitude for the commitment, support and loyalty of every employee”.

He worked in banking for 44 years, including around 27 years as board member of the Raiffeisenbank in Oberland and seven years as its chairman.

The Baden-Württemberg native from Aalen emphasized that his time at the Upper Bavarian cooperative bank was not only formative for him professionally, but above all personally.

“It’s a very special banking community, this Raiffeisenbank in the Oberland.

Very familiar, simply genuine and authentic.”

From a quartet to a trio with a dual leadership

In the future, a trio of board members will control the fortunes of Raiffeisenbank im Oberland, based in Bad Tölz.

After Hegele's departure, his remaining board colleagues Manfred Gasteiger, Manfred Klaar and Johannes Paul run the bank on an equal basis.

Gasteiger and Klaar equally share the position of board spokesman.

The entire Supervisory Board decided on this staffing last spring.

“The supervisory board unanimously agreed on the solution of dual leadership in order to specifically pursue a modern, team-oriented leadership approach and to utilize the respective strengths of the board members equally,” explains supervisory board chairman Franz Schöttl.

The supervisory board therefore entrusted Manfred Gasteiger and Manfred Klaar with the role of “speaker of the board”.
