The signatures have been handed over, now we can move on to further planning for the referendum on the new building of the Schlierseer Hof.
There are two possible dates.
Schliersee
- After handing over the signatures, Schliersee's mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer mentioned a few open questions about the upcoming referendum regarding Schlierseer Hof.
He therefore assumes that the vote will take place either on Sunday, April 28th or May 4th.
Election notification probably mid-March
The citizens' initiative still has to overcome two hurdles.
On the one hand, the administration checks whether enough Schlierse residents who are eligible to vote have signed.
This is to be expected with well over 1,300 signatures.
Around 700 are needed. The local authority supervisory authority then checks whether the question is amenable to a referendum.
As reported, the initiative would like to limit the size and height of the planned new building.
However, the group obtained detailed legal advice in advance - and even changed the wording in the meantime, which meant that the collection of signatures began all over again (we reported).
If the municipal supervisory authority at the district office has no objections, it is the municipal council's turn.
According to Schnitzenbaumer, this should work at the meeting on Tuesday, February 20th.
The election notifications should then leave the town hall in mid-March.
According to Schnitzenbaumer, the town hall will already be sending out the postal voting documents.
“That increases voter turnout.”
Citizens' initiative plans information event
As Alexander von Schoeler, spokesman for the citizens' initiative, says, they will also explain at an information event why the current planning for the Schlierseer Hof is not compatible with the location.
Both sides, including building owner Walter de Alwis, say they have received a lot of support for their stance.
