The country is in turmoil.

Time to see who is actually responsible for this.

Some people would like to use a quieter tone again, says editorial director Hans Moritz in his comment on the weekend.

And: There are signs that give courage.

What turbulent times: The farmers have been demonstrating for over a month now, the train drivers are, for once, not on strike and on Sunday there will be a large anti-right rally in Erding.

This shows that the people are more agitated than ever, and the political mood is more heated than it has been for a long time.

Why is that?

Corona may be over, but the existential shock of the pandemic still lingers on many people.

During this time, the Ukraine War began, which is wearing down the Western world and which still poses the risk of a conflagration developing that would also spread to Germany.

With Putin's attack, prices rose.

The sharp rise in interest rates is causing further inflation.

And then there is politics - a traffic light that is poorly crafted and an opposition that is so strident that people turn away from politics in horror.

Or, even worse, turn to the AfD.

Their current strength only results from the bad situation.

This is overshadowed by mass immigration, which cannot be curbed as easily overnight as almost all parties now want to believe.

The situation could improve if the democratic forces finally disarmed.

Likewise the associations.

The trade's displeasure with the traffic lights is understandable, and much of the criticism is absolutely justified.

But how credible is it when two master craftsmen, both of whom are active CSU politicians, brush off the traffic light representatives?

Martin Reiter in Freising and Rudi Waxenberger in Erding.

The latter has just run for the state parliament.

In the district council, Florian Geiger from the Greens was outraged about the AfD - certainly not without reason.

At the same time, the Greens are the loudest in the democracy demos.

Here too: please ease off the gas.

The fact that the mood in the country is so bad is largely thanks to the Greens.

Anyone who abandons nuclear power for ideological reasons in an energy crisis, or who wants to push through a heating law without municipal heat planning and with a ban on wood stoves, should not be surprised if people rebel.

The Free Voter Georg Els said something very true in the district council: the unbroken entitlement mentality.

Every burden should be shared with as much solidarity as possible, and at the same time no one wants to part with tax gifts.

The district budget is proof on a small scale: Things can't go on like this.

The money is gone.

For now, the state can only help those who are really down.

And – fortunately – these are still the fewest in Erdinger Land, as the unemployment figures show.

In addition, there is an incredible sense of solidarity on site, supported by many clubs.

That's good news too.
