Til Schweiger and the “crime scene” will probably never come together again.

The actor has no interest in returning as Inspector Tschiller.

Hamburg – Til Schweiger (60) was seen as Inspector Nick Tschiller in Hamburg’s “Tatort” a total of six times.

In 2016, the character even made it to the big screen in the action-packed “Tschiller: Off Duty”.

“Tschill Out”, Inspector Tschiller's last case, was almost four years ago.

And Til Schweiger will probably not return as an investigator in the future.

Because the actor has not left the popular crime film format in good stead.

Til Schweiger sees no future at “Tatort”

Til Schweiger's “Tatort” career began in 2013.

It apparently ended in 2020, because neither the actor nor NDR seem to be interested in continuing the collaboration.

“It ’s

been a long time since we planned to continue,” Til Schweiger told

Bild.de.

According to the star, both ARD and NDR are “no longer in the mood” for it.

Schweiger actually has a contract for two more episodes, but ARD coordinator Jörg Schönenborn (59) said last year: “No further Tatort films are planned with Til Schweiger for the time being.”

Already knew?

These celebrities have already had guest appearances in “Tatort”

In 1970, the first episode of Tatort flickered across German TV screens.

Today the crime series has achieved cult status and some German celebrities also took the opportunity to take part in the crime scene.

Joshua Kimmich played a fitness trainer in “Tatort: Hackl” in 2022.

Udo Lindenberg played himself in “Tatort: Everything Comes Back” in 2021. In 2015, Helene Fischer played a Ukrainian criminal in “The Great Pain”.

And Schlager colleague Roland Kaiser was seen in “Summ, buzz, buzz” in 2013 as pop star Roman König.

“I don’t deal with the ‘crime scene’”

Til Schweiger doesn't seem to be particularly bothered by the fact that ARD no longer relies on him.

Because he himself is clearly no longer interested in the long-running crime series.

“I don't deal with the 'crime scene'.

“I actually never watched it until I made it myself,” reveals the actor, who is also successful in Hollywood films, with his typically direct manner.

Schweiger cannot be described as a fan of the format - on the contrary.

Regarding the quality of the films, he even remarks: “There were a few good ones – but many not so good.” A rejection could hardly be formulated more clearly.

The Nick Tschiller chapter seems to be finally closed.

Til Schweiger and the “Tatort” are apparently going their separate ways in the future.

He has now stated that he is not interested in returning as Chief Inspector Nick Tschiller.

Speaking of “crime scene”: “Avatar” was the last “crime scene” for Annalena Schmidt and Peter Espeloer.

But as the two now reveal, they were forced into retirement for financial reasons.

The ARD wants to take “Tatort” in a completely different direction.
