A sixty-year-old was taken into police custody after stabbing his wife in Sanary-sur-Mer (Var), we learned on Friday February 2 from the Toulon prosecutor's office and police sources.
Furthermore, an administrative investigation was ordered targeting the police who intervened at the home on Friday, just a few minutes before the husband, a drunk in his sixties, killed his wife, the Toulon prosecutor's office announced on Saturday.
Weapon and ammunition
Friday at 2:30 p.m., a police emergency team arrived at the couple's home, at the request of the 64-year-old wife.

“their respective state of alcoholism and the existence of a marital dispute”

While the woman explains that she does not wish to file a complaint, her husband
“spontaneously gives her several weapons and ammunition”
, weapons that he possessed illegally.
This couple was until now unknown to the courts.
Barely having left, the police were called back at 4 p.m. and they found the woman’s lifeless body.
The husband, aged 69,
“immediately indicates having killed his wife with a bladed weapon”
, continues the prosecutor.
“In order to determine whether the rules for intervention and handling of this type of situation were respected, an administrative investigation, parallel to the judicial investigation, was ordered by the interdepartmental police director,”
specifies the prosecution.
The accused should be referred to him by Sunday with a view to opening a judicial investigation for spousal homicide.
Separation
According to a police source, the tragedy took place at the home of the couple, who were in the process of separating, in the middle of the afternoon.
The police were alerted by the brother of the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing.
The victim, hit in the chest, died on the spot despite the intervention of firefighters.
