A driver tried to avoid a traffic jam on the shoulder and was caught by the police.

Nuremberg - As part of patrol duty, traffic police were on the Franconian Expressway.

At the level of “An den Rampen” there was a significant backlog due to Nuremberg rush hour traffic, as the Middle Franconia police reported on Facebook.

“During this time, the patrol was overtaken by a car on the shoulder, apparently in an attempt to move faster,” the post continues, which also includes a video of the incident.

During the subsequent check, the driver stated that he was on the way to the hospital because his sister in the passenger seat had severe stomach pain.

An ambulance was then requested.

However, when the driver's data was checked, it turned out that the man's driving license had been legally revoked.

He therefore should not have driven the vehicle.

“The sister’s pain then suddenly disappeared,” the Middle Franconian police continued in the Facebook post.

The ambulance was then canceled.

After paying a security deposit of 300 euros, the two were able to continue their journey - with the man in the passenger seat.

“The supposedly 'sick' sister then took over the wheel,” the officials continued.

The Facebook users are horrified by the duo's behavior: "The use of the emergency services should be charged additionally... was obviously a blatant lie." Another simply comments: "What impossible citizens there are." "That is “The daily madness... overtaking on the right, cutting in without a safe distance is becoming the norm,” another person said angrily.

Some are therefore calling for more police checks.

She appeals: “Traffic rules serve the safety of everyone.

We ask that you also observe these in exceptional situations and, if in doubt, alert the emergency services.
