In Oise, as in all departments of Hauts-de-France, the number of empty homes has continued to increase in recent years.

According to INSEE (Statistics Institute), the department has 7.1% in 2020, compared to 5.4% in 2009.

Despite this increase, Oise remains less affected by this phenomenon than its neighbors.

Unlike Aisne, where the population is decreasing (−0.2% per year between 2009 and 2020), it is the only department in the region to gain inhabitants “significantly”, reveals INSEE.

Every year, new Oisians move in, representing an increase of 0.3% per year in the population between 2009 and 2020.
