More than 20 years have passed since Anna Doherty was fired from the hit series "Bewitched," when her co-star, Alyssa Milano, finally chose to respond to the rumors that she led the move • "I'm sad that people can't move on"

The series "Bewitched" was one of the most loved series in the world between the late 90's and the mid 2000's.

As you remember, the series followed three witch-sisters and Shannon Doherty, Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs participated in them - when at the end of the third season, Doherty ended her journey in the series and was replaced by Rose McGowan.

For years, there have been rumors in Hollywood that Milano fired Doherty on the grounds that they didn't get along, a claim that didn't surprise many since Doherty was seen as a troubled actress back in her Beverly Hills 90210 days.

So many years after the end of the series, Milano finally decided to respond to the rumors - and her response is surprising.

During a panel in which she participated in recent days in Orlando, the actress was asked about the issue, and responded by saying that she knew this matter would come up - and that she thought a lot about how to respond to it.

"I'm just saying I'm sad," Milano said.

She did not deny reports that it led to her former co-star's firing, adding: "I don't think I'm sad about myself or my life or how it has or hasn't affected my life. I'm especially sad for the fans. I'm especially sad that the show which meant so much to so many people was tarnished by a poisoning that to this day, almost a quarter of a century later, is still happening."

The 51-year-old Milano added: "I'm sad that people can't move on and that we can't just celebrate the success of a series that was so important to all of us."

Continuing her words, the star said that she worked so hard over the past 25 years to heal her "trauma", according to her, beyond the one she experienced during the filming of the series.

"I realized that hurt people hurt people, and my intention is to be a healed person who helps people heal."

Milano's words come after Doherty and Holly Marie Combs, the third star of "Bewitched", discussed the show on the latter's podcast, during which she revealed that one of the producers of the series told her at the time that Milano came to the producers with a demand - to keep her or Doherty.

"She threatened to sue us for a hostile work environment," said a producer, according to Combs.
