Before using garden tools, especially electrical ones, check them thoroughly again.
Otherwise there is a risk of injury.
When the gardening season begins again in spring, there is a lot of work waiting for gardeners.
The beds need to be freed from their winter protection, the first seeds are going into the ground and the lawn needs to be cut again.
Most people already have the right tools for this - waiting in the shed or garage to be used.
But before you use lawn mowers etc., you should first check their condition.
Otherwise it can even be life-threatening.
Garden tools checked: Good care starts beforehand
The best time for a thorough check of your most important garden tools is towards the end of winter, i.e. shortly before they are to be used again.
If you don't want to experience any unpleasant surprises, you can take precautions by storing them.
Store secateurs, lawnmowers, etc. in a dry, protected place.
Some materials also cannot tolerate frost - rubber, for example, becomes porous more quickly.

According to FAZ.net,
small tools such as secateurs can
also be easily packed in a cloth so that their blades do not become dull.
The material also offers protection against rust film.
Also important: Remove dirt before the devices go into the garage or shed.
This often works well with a brush and a little lukewarm water.
Don't forget: Dry the tool well afterwards so that it doesn't rust.

: Are the garden hose and rubber seals still intact or is the material porous?
If something is broken, get a replacement.
Caring for wooden parts
: Inspect handles and handles of tools: Are parts splintered or broken?
Then the same applies here: replace the corresponding parts.

You should check electronic devices particularly carefully.
Important: Be sure to switch off your lawn mower (promotional link) etc. beforehand and unplug it!
Is the housing damaged or are cables cracked or broken?
Then: Do not attempt to repair the device yourself or continue to use it.
In the worst case scenario, there is a risk of life-threatening electric shock!
In this case, damaged electronics are in good hands in an appropriate workshop.
