He was finally able to return home on Wednesday.
On October 25, Olivier Vagneux, opposition municipal councilor (SE) of Savigny-sur-Orge, was placed under judicial supervision, pending his judgment, following a complaint from the mayor for death threats.
A judicial control which prohibited him from setting foot not only in Savigny, where he lives, but also in Essonne.
During a speech in tribute to Dominique Bernard, professor murdered in Arras, Alexis Teillet (LR), the mayor of Savigny declared: “The solution (
to terrorism Editor's note
) is within us”.
This sentence had annoyed his opponent who responded on his blog: “I propose, as an experiment, since the solution is in each of us, the vivisection in public square of the mayor of Savigny”.
The mayor then filed a complaint for death threats.
He went to live “with an uncle, in Montmorency, for 99 days”
Olivier Vagneux, known for being litigious, appealed against his judicial review.
“I found it very disproportionate, I didn’t understand it.
The prosecutor had only asked that I be banned from town hall,” he explains to us.
On November 10, this judicial control was partially lifted, the inadmissibility being limited to Savigny.
And on January 18, it was completely lifted "on the grounds that the documents submitted in the file did not justify placement under judicial supervision", specifies the elected official.
“I waited until January 31 to return home, long enough to receive an official written document.
Until then, I had to go and live with an uncle, in Montmorency (Val-d'Oise), for 99 days.
It doesn't leave you unscathed, but it gets worse.
I have family who were able to accommodate me, I didn't have to pay for hotel nights, puts Olivier Vagneux into perspective.
But I lost my registration for a doctorate, the professor concerned not wanting to see his name associated with mine when he learned of my placement under judicial supervision.

This mishap was also an opportunity to sort out his friends: “People turned their backs on me.
And those who already didn't like me hate me even more.
Those who follow me see it as judicial relentlessness.

The page will not be definitively turned until March 18, the date of the trial which pits him once again against the mayor.
The hearing must be held in Évry-Courcouronnes.
But Olivier Vagneux, who says he is upset by the decisions taken in Évry, has requested a change of scenery so that the case can be judged in another department.
