“MISCELLANEOUS FACTS” NEWSLETTER N°40 - Every Sunday, find an overview of police investigations and current legal cases.

Dear readers,

The first weekend of February was marked by a knife attack in the heart of Paris, Gare de Lyon, this Saturday morning.

According to the capital's police headquarters, three people were injured in a stabbing attack in hall 3 of the station.

The Paris prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into attempted assassination entrusted to the 2nd judicial police district.

The suspect's custody was lifted in view of his

“incompatible psychiatric state”

, announced the prosecution.

It was

“lifted following the behavioral examination”

which revealed a

“psychiatric state incompatible with the restraint measure.

He is therefore currently being cared for by the psychiatric infirmary of the police headquarters.”

The alleged perpetrator of the attack, Kassogue S., aged 32 and of Malian nationality, is according to the prefect

“in a regular situation in Italy since 2016, with a valid document issued in 2019.”

According to the account of a police officer present at Gare de Lyon, he set fire to his backpack on an escalator, then tried to attack a woman who was walking away from him at the time.

The individual then took a knife out of his pants, and struck a senior man in the abdomen who intervened, then allegedly hit him in the head with a hammer.

WHAT WE KNOW

In the rest of the current news

  • An S file arrested in Lyon threatened passers-by with a knife

Saturday was not spared since 466 kilometers further, in Lyon this time, Sofiane K., an individual registered as S aged 28, was arrested while threatening passers-by with a knife, we learned

Le Figaro

from a police source.

The man was also, it seems, suffering from psychological disorders: he was diagnosed as schizophrenic, specifies a prefectural source, and was followed in a Lyon psychiatric establishment, according to our police source.

Those around him reportedly told the police officer that he had recently stopped his treatment.

THE SUSPECT’S PROFILE

  • The enigmatic Hiromi Rollin, in the shadow of Alain Delon

Sometimes a concubine, sometimes a nurse, the Japanese woman maintained a mysterious and tormented relationship with the actor for more than thirty years, which ended with his brutal expulsion from the Douchy house last July.

The two complaints filed by the Delon siblings against him were dismissed on January 4.

Exonerated, Hiromi Rollin continues to hide, refusing even to tell her friends where she is.

“The Delon affair” has made her, more than ever, a woman in the shadows.

A character that we imagine to be manipulative, hungry for control and money.

Her place with the star still questions those who worked with her – from the Douchy staff questioned by investigators, to her cinema friends, including the star's children.

They consider this repudiated woman sometimes as the despotic nurse of the weakened Samurai, sometimes as his gentle and discreet companion.

OUR STORY

Yesterday's fact

The door on which Ghislaine Marchal would have designated her assassin.

Eric Gaillard

30 years ago, on February 2, 1994, Omar Raddad, a Moroccan gardener, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder of his boss.

Widow of an automotive equipment manufacturer, Ghislaine Marchal, 65, was killed with a wooden rafter and a knife on June 23, 1991 in her villa in Mougins.

In the room in the basement where his body was found, two inscriptions written in his blood, with the wrong conjugation, seemed to designate his killer: “Omar killed me”.

Evidence or manipulation?

The complex file will experience many twists and turns and will fascinate the press.

Omar Raddad, defended by the star of the bar, Maître Jacques Vergès, was pardoned in 1996 and released two years later.

A first request for review of the trial was rejected in 2002. After the discovery of new unidentified genetic fingerprints, a new request was filed.

It was in turn rejected in October 2022, leaving definitive doubt about the guilt of the unfortunate gardener.
