Ready for demolition – but what can or may be built afterwards?

Peiting - Local councilor Norbert Merk spoke of the “crux” of maximum profit optimization when the building committee discussed the construction of a new apartment building with seven residential units on Füssener Straße.
The application for a preliminary ruling was rejected.
It is an old farmstead.
It borders Füssener Straße to the east.
On the other side - down to Peitnach - is the undeveloped Basiliwiese.
An application with several terraced houses had already been submitted for the site of the former farm - and was also rejected.
Bettina Maeße from the building administration described that the apartment building would have a ridge height of 11.8 meters.
For the terraced houses previously applied for, it was 10.45 meters.
That alone was perceived as too high.
In any case, the district office would reject the residential complex with a height of 11.8 meters.
An underground car park is to be built under the apartment building.
However, some parking spaces must be proven to be at ground level.
Areas on Füssener Straße have been designated for this purpose.
Maeße found the arrangement to be “unfortunate”.
Thomas Elste (Greens) could very well imagine an apartment building.
There are already blocks of flats further along Füssener Straße and Bachfeldstraße towards the south.
It may be possible to reduce the height with a different roof pitch, added Elste, who was the only one to support the application.
“Don’t repeat mistakes”
Andreas Barnsteiner (Citizens' Association) responded.
There is no need to repeat the mistakes of the sixties and seventies.
Mayor Ostenrieder thought that one had to be careful that a new building was not oversized, but rather fit into the surrounding area.
