According to Mayor Stefan Jocher, two projects will shape the year 2024 in Schlehdorf: the expansion of the existing fire station and the construction of a new municipal building yard.

In addition, a development plan for a new development area could gain momentum again.

Schlehdorf – “There are a lot of things coming up,” says Schlehdorf Mayor Stefan Jocher when asked which projects the community would like to implement in 2024.

But with the construction of a new daycare center and the renovation of the elementary school, the small community on Kochelsee has recently achieved so much that saving is still the order of the day.

It is true that the finances will have “relaxed again” in 2023, as the economy was already very economical last year.

But there are still no big jumps possible.

Over the past year, the reserves from the two major investments have recovered and have grown from almost zero to currently around one million euros.

Fire brigade needs space for changing rooms

In view of this relaxation, the community wants to tackle further projects.

“The most urgent thing is to expand the fire station,” says Jocher.

As already reported, it is planned to convert the two garages adjacent to the tool shed so that they can serve as an extension of the existing building.

This will, among other things, create space for changing rooms and additional parking spaces.

The local council approved a corresponding building application in November.

The plan is currently with the district office, said Jocher.

The mayor estimates the cost of the measure at around 300,000 euros.

The problem: There were a lot of municipal machines, tools, etc. stored in the garages, for which a new space had to be created before the tool shed could be expanded.

The equipment will find this place in a new construction yard.

There is currently no such thing in Schlehdorf.

The result, says Jocher: All of the community's machines, vehicles and other paraphernalia are stowed away in different places.

New debt required for construction yard

As already reported, the new building yard is to be built in the Unterau district.

There is currently no plan for this new building, says Jocher.

“If things go well,” the local council will discuss a building application at the end of the first half of the year.

He does not expect any objections from the local council or district office to the project.

There is no cost calculation for the new building yet.

But Jocher expects around one to one and a half million euros and makes it clear: “This won’t work without new debt.”

“We don’t need to undertake more than these two projects,” said the community leader.

This means, among other things, that the desire that has been harbored for some time to add a multi-purpose hall to the school will not progress in 2024.

“Nothing is likely to happen this year.”

The planned flood-proof expansion of the Kohllaine (we reported) will also not be implemented this year.

As a next step, the water management office in Weilheim must submit a cost-benefit calculation.

When the expansion will take place and whether at all is currently completely unclear, says Jocher.

This year, however, new momentum could come into the Unterau-Ost development plan to create new living space.

After the resolution that had already been passed in the most recent local council meeting was unanimously repealed following a ruling by the Federal Administrative Court on paragraph 13 b (we reported), the Bundestag has now reacted, explains Jocher.

For Schlehdorf, this means that the development plan process could be resumed.

Jocher assumes that the local council will do the same.

Things look different with the larger Unterau-West development plan.

“It’s in limbo.” The local council is divided on this.
