The police arrested last night (Saturday) an 18-year-old man, a resident of East Jerusalem, on suspicion of assaulting his partner, apparently after an argument that broke out between them.

According to the suspicion, the young man threw a chair and coffee cups at his partner, broke her cell phone and threatened to kill her.
The woman needed medical treatment at the hospital.
In addition, the young man is also suspected of having attacked his partner's sister, who was present at the scene.
His detention was extended until Tuesday.
The Israel Police in the Jerusalem district stated: "Last night, the center received a report of a serious case of violence at a house in the east of the city. According to the report, the suspect attacked his partner, apparently following an argument. Police officers from the Shelem station in the Jerusalem district quickly arrived on the scene, and noticed a woman who was not feeling well, and who had been evacuated Shortly after that, to the hospital. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Shalem station for questioning."
It was also reported that "the Israel Police will continue to act resolutely against violence among spouses and in general, and will bring justice to those violent criminals, with the aim of maintaining public peace and security."
Today the suspect was brought to a hearing to extend his detention and the police investigation continues.
