The Tölzer fire department votes for entry in the association register.

At the same time, some criticize the sense of community.

Bad Tölz

- As early as 1952, the Tölz fire department thought about getting registered in the association register, but this step has only now been taken.

The 70 members present at the annual meeting voted without a dissenting vote for the entry and the necessary change to the statutes - much to the relief of chairman Hans Eberl: “I'm really happy that it's done.

Everyone who was involved knows what work it was and how it dragged on over the year." In addition to the topic of changing the statutes, the meeting was characterized by self-critical voices - some speakers criticized the sense of community, which is apparently not always optimal.

Low participation in the excursion “a bit of a shame”

Eberl was particularly disappointed with the response to a trip to Salzburg with a visit to the castle and a wine tavern evening.

40 participants would have registered for it, but in the end there were only 23 - which Eberl sees as “a bit of a shame”.

“Otherwise we can leave it as it is, otherwise we’ll make fools of ourselves.”

Last year there were only a few appointments for moving out, said Eberl, but these few appointments were poorly attended: “If we can only fill a 14-passenger bus with Taferlbuam and then there are still seats available, that's a bit of a shame.

We are Tölz, we are the district town.

If we march, we should be recognized.” He expects a larger turnout at the Sachsenkam fire department’s 150th anniversary celebration in mid-July: “Otherwise we can leave it as it is, otherwise we’ll make a fool of ourselves.”

“I notice that the togetherness and the camaraderie have changed”

Secretary Monika Detter's statement went in a similar direction.

The chief firefighter said she had been there for almost 20 years: “But I notice that the togetherness and the camaraderie have changed.” In her opinion, the motto “One for all, all for one” should be in the foreground again. “and also set an example by the leadership.”

Members vote unanimously for entry in the association register

However, there were no major discussions about the entry in the association register and the new statutes, which are based on the statutes of the State Fire Brigade Association.

The conversion into an association has legal reasons, explained Eberl.

Without entry in the association register, the members would – theoretically – be liable with their own assets.

We now want to rule this out.

There are only a few fire departments left between Winkl and Weidach that are not entered in the association register.

The members voted for the entry without a dissenting vote.

The board is allowed to spend up to 5,000 euros on individual measures - fragments from the annual meeting

What still needed to be clarified at the meeting was how much the board can spend on individual measures without the general meeting having to agree.

The long-time commander Hermann John considered 3,000 euros to be sufficient because the city is primarily responsible for purchasing emergency equipment and construction work on the fire station.

The fire brigade association is basically only responsible for replacing a broken oven, refrigerator and the like.

A team representative, on the other hand, advocated 5,000 euros “because everything will be more expensive.”

Without a dissenting vote, the decision was made for the higher amount.

No objections to purchasing a bouncy castle

The meeting also had no objections to the purchase of a bouncy castle - this item on the agenda was discussed for a long time in 2023.

According to the new concept, the fire department incurs no costs for the purchase and receives 50 percent of the profit from the rental.

The bouncy castle will be used for the first time on February 10th at the children's carnival.

The fire department is hoping for new hall gates and a new turntable ladder vehicle

Hall gates:

The hall gates in the fire station are 26 years old.

Once the exit of a fire engine was delayed due to a broken gate.

The manufacturing company no longer exists, so spare parts are difficult to obtain, explained Commander Thomas Fuchsgruber.

Discussions with the city are currently ongoing.

He hopes the replacement will be included in the 2024 budget.

Hose washing:

In the future, 400 hoses from the Wackersberg fire department will be cleaned every year in the hose washing system in the Tölzer fire station.

Even though the hoses from another fire department were no longer available, the fire department, in collaboration with the city, created an additional 50 percent position for a full-time equipment supervisor, said Commander Thomas Fuchsgruber.

Terrace:

The city and the building yard quickly implemented the fire department's wish to build a terrace at the fire station: "It was finished within a few days," reported chairman Hans Eberl.

She is always well staffed.

Turntable ladder vehicle:

This year the fire department wants to get a replacement turntable ladder vehicle underway.

According to Fuchsgruber, this will cost a “high six-figure to seven-figure amount”.

The fire department is currently “in the discovery phase”.

There is still no agreement as to which vehicle is suitable.

The top dog is making negative headlines, and the competitors are not yet 100 percent convinced.

Chronicle:

Over months of painstaking work, Ludwig Bernhard digitized the log books written in old German script.

Eberl thanked him and presented Bernhard with a gift basket.

Demolition houses:

The respiratory protection exercise in the former Hirsch sports studio was a “highlight” for the fire department, reported Thomas Fuchsgruber.

One or two splashes of water run off in the former indoor swimming pool, a black line on the wall is not noticeable: “Such objects are perfect,” said the commander.

“If anyone knows of a house that is being torn down: just bring it on – we’ll think of something.”

Number of members:

The Tölz fire department currently has 102 active members – eight fewer than last year.

Secretary Monika Detter announced this in her annual report.

In addition – as in the previous year – there are 39 passive members as well as 53 supporting and five honorary members.
