Maisach – An eventful year 2023 lies behind the First Responder Team in Maisach.

A total of 142 missions were carried out last year.

The missions were very diverse: These included injuries caused by accidents, problems with the cardiovascular system, life-threatening situations as well as pain and neurological/psychological challenges.

In 2023, the first responder was on site on average in around three minutes after the alarm was raised.

For 2024, the Maisach fire department has set itself the goal of further expanding the team of first responder volunteers.

For this, in addition to the basic fire brigade training, an 80-hour training course to become a paramedic must be completed.

Then a new helper can drive missions together with an experienced member of the team.

Quickly on site

The First Responder team was founded in 2008 and consists exclusively of volunteers from the Maisach fire department.

In the municipality of Maisach, the first responder is always alerted when 112 is dialed, quick help is needed or an emergency medical intervention is reported.

The volunteers are on standby in Maisach together with the first responder vehicle.

Due to the local proximity, the first responder team arrives at the scene quicker than the emergency services from Fürstenfeldbruck, Gröbenzell or Dachau.

“This saves valuable minutes that can save lives,” says Sascha Uhl from the Maisach fire department.
