The TSV Grafing carnival variety show thrilled the audience at four sold-out events.

A clown celebrated his departure from the stage.

Grafing

- acrobatics, show dancing, lively children's groups, skits and three clowns who don't shy away from aiming just below the belt with their sharp-tongued sayings: After decades of existence, the TSV Grafing variety show is still a major event in the carnival backdrop entire Ebersberg district.

Those who are self-respecting are among the guests, and those who deserve it are in the line of fire on the evening.

The weekend performances demanded a lot of stamina from both the actors and the audience, as they each lasted well over four hours.

But it was definitely worth the visit and in all seriousness: every single actor in front of, on and behind the stage deserved huge applause.

At the end there was even a standing ovation and a touch of sentimentality, because it was the last performance for one of the actors.

The two emcees Thomas Urban and Felix Richter led the program.

The pivotal point of all parts of the program were the three clowns Giagl, Wiggerl and Ferdl, alias Martin Weigand, Hermann Holzmann and Stefan Marschner, whose performances the audience looked forward to with excitement because everyone knew: Today the celebrities are getting their fat.

Grafing is becoming a therapy town

Among other things, the mayor of Grafingen, Christian Bauer, was praised for the fact that the city, which now has numerous practices on the market square, is well on the way to transforming itself into a “therapy city”.

The clowns themselves proved that this couldn't be the worst development. Last year, Holzmann was treated for acute lumbago by a well-known therapist named “Fränzi” during the performance and this time, according to Weigand, he had to resort to stage doping a few schnapps because he was prepared for his performance with antibiotics.

Of course, none of this could slow down the fluid pace of the cheeky trio.

Gymnastics children take audiences into space

As always, the program was opened by the TSV guard girls and then by the gymnastics children, who took the audience on a journey into space and dream worlds and also collected a lot of sympathy points with their performances as cheerleaders.

The young acrobats completed a surprisingly long choreography for their age.

At the same time, the visitors were made aware that every cent invested in sport in the city and in particular in the TSV is money well spent.

In any case, the clowns intone, the Ebersbergers should look at Grafing with envy, “because there is a little town next door where they really enjoy living.”

A bit of neighborhood bashing is always possible, even if, according to the clowns in the bear city itself, not everything is going well.

In the song “Two Fat Italians”, for example, the rapid change of innkeepers on the market square was discussed, in which Bräu Gregor Schlederer was criticized for his direction and in which two popular and portly innkeepers from Bella Italia were given the advice to unpack the moving boxes a little waiting.

Schlederer was given the honor of being mentioned several times in the clowns' potpourris.

It was pointed out with relish that there is a brewery outside of the Ebersberg district, let's say in the Rosenheim area, that is happy to fill the Grafinger Wildbräu's service gap with fire-red trailers and the appropriate equipment.

Movimento stands for top performance: two young women doing their vertical acrobatics.

A solo excursion by Grafinger state parliament member Thomas Huber was also detailed in detail. After an extensive visit to a carnival event in the district town, he suddenly found himself at the Ostbahnhof on the S-Bahn ride home to Grafing because he had fallen asleep on the train.

In between, the show dance group High Energy, the Grafinger Faschingsbären thrilled the audience with a sketch about the hospitality of the Grafinger Volksfest and, above all, two gymnasts from the group Movimento.

There were moments during their vertical cloth acrobatics where everyone held their breath.

After the break it continued with the cow girls from gymnastics group III and a skit by the fire department about the kindergarten in the Grafinger city council, where Mayor Bauer was “donated” to appear with a full diaper.

Then followed “Chaos on the Red Carpet” by the female gymnastics youth and a spectacular show by the cuddly bear gang with bright neon light sticks.

The finale was the appearance of the attractive Grafinger guard girls, before things got a bit wistful.

Because it was the last appearance for clown Hermann Holzmann (69) after 30 years; he is retiring.

It's a credit to the clowns that this farewell didn't get too sentimental.

To a standing ovation from the audience, the outgoing mocker was handed a small stage on which he himself can be seen in his signature costume.

He doesn't need to be too moved now, said clown colleague Weigand when handing over the present to the honoree.

Because he will receive this honor three more times, said “Giagl”, referring to the performances that are still outstanding.
