Wolfsburg's Niko Kovac is under a lot of pressure before the game against Hoffenheim.

The 2:2 relieves the coach for the time being.

Managing director Schäfer confirms the Croatian's whereabouts.

Wolfsburg - Despite the weak performance at times in the 2-2 draw against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and the mixed season, VfL Wolfsburg is sticking with coach Niko Kovac.

“Niko remains the coach and will be on the training pitch tomorrow,” said managing director Marcel Schäfer after the Bundesliga game on Sunday.

The plan is to end the season with the coach.

The ex-professional denied rumors about several trainer names that were recently linked to the eleventh place in the table.

Kovac himself said of the situation: "I can only say that I have played many finals in my life - and won a lot of them." The 52-year-old Croatian had recently come under a lot of public pressure.

The Lower Saxony team, who got their fourth draw in a row, have now been waiting for a win for five games.

The club started the season with great European Cup ambitions.

They are currently eight points behind sixth place.

Schäfer was not satisfied with the draw against Hoffenheim.

“Not everything works out, yes, we know that,” he said.

“Nevertheless, the team is alive and willing to make things happen,” he added.

Substitute Croatian midfielder Lovro Majer (59th minute/70th) equalized Hoffenheim's opening goals by Maximilian Beier (6th) and Grischa Prömel (66th).
