The Hungarian lowcost company Wizz Air announced a few weeks ago its expected return to Israel at the beginning of March.

The company is expected to operate flights to six destinations in the first phase, with approximately three flights per week to each of the destinations, while the frequency of flights may vary depending on the situation and demand.

The destinations to which the company is expected to fly are London, Budapest, Bucharest, Sofia, Krakow and Rome.

In recent days, quite a few Israelis have received cancellation notices regarding their future flights with Wizz Air.

Does this mean that the company has withdrawn from the decision to return to Israel?

not exactly.

The Hungarian airline sold flights to a wide variety of destinations, as many other airlines do, but now, following the decision to return to Israel, it has significantly reduced its flight schedule and made adjustments for the return to Israel.

This means that if in the past the company operated two flights a day to a certain destination, now it is expected to make three flights a week in total, so that in this range, quite a few flights are canceled.

In addition, as mentioned, the company is expected to return its flights to only six destinations, compared to more than twenty destinations to which it has flown so far, which means that the flights booked to those destinations to which the company will not fly in the first stage are also expected to be canceled.

It is important to emphasize that Wizz Air, like all other airlines, is monitoring the situation in Israel and there may be changes in accordance with developments in Israel.

Other Lowcost companies that have already returned to Israel are Ryanair and Transavia, they did not return in full format, but only to some of the destinations they flew to before the war.

The British EasyJet has not yet announced a return to Israel and last weekend even postponed the flights to Israel for two weeks, until mid-March, according to the flight schedule on the company's website.
