“My priority was to disarm him”: how a security agent neutralized the attacker at Lyon station

Thanks to his intervention, Kassogue S., 32, was arrested and placed in police custody in Paris.

Before investigators, the suspect admitted his intention to

“kill people”

but his motive remains unclear.

The Malian, unknown to the police and legally entered France thanks to a residence permit obtained in 2019 in Italy, also highlighted his psychiatric disorders.

Investigators found medication and an appointment ticket for a consultation at Turin hospital, where he would have already been interned.
