A woman suspected of kidnapping a dog in Los Angeles was arrested this Saturday, two weeks after she allegedly stole a French bulldog while the pet's owner clung to the hood of the car in which the accused fled.
The Los Angeles Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Sadie Slater, 21, in Inglewood, California.
She is charged with robbery and her bond has been set at $70,000, according to police.
Slater is allegedly responsible for the kidnapping of the dog on January 18 in the Californian city.
He then got into a white car driven by someone else and fled while the owner tried to stop him, clinging to the engine cover.
The incident was captured on video by a passerby.

The animal's owner, Ali Zacharias, was having lunch outside a Whole Foods market when her French bulldog, Onyx, wandered away.
She then saw a woman holding Onyx and getting into a car.
Zacharias went after her to clear up what she initially thought was a misunderstanding.

“The last thing I could do was stand in front of the car,” Zacharias said.
“I was trying to put my body there.
They hit me until I fell on the hood.
“I held on to the windshield wipers.”
The vehicle accelerated with Zacharias on the hood.
A few blocks away, she was thrown from the moving car and suffered cuts and bruises.
Police responded to the scene and attempted to pursue the vehicle, but she returned empty-handed.

Zacharias said three women, including the alleged thief, and one man – the driver – were responsible for kidnapping the dog.
Los Angeles police were looking for two possible suspects: a man and a woman.
Slater was identified as the woman, but the male suspect has not yet been arrested, and Onyx remains missing at this time.
