The 'RomeFlex' project comes to life in Rome, "the flexibility system that allows you to regulate the quantity of electricity injected into the grid, so that supply corresponds to demand, manage energy flows in terms of production and consumption by of private individuals or companies to cope with drops in supply or peaks in market demand, thus optimizing the quality of the service".
This was announced in a joint press release by Acea, Gme (Energy Market Manager) and Engineering, a company that developed the IT platforms for connection between energy distributors and Gme.
The project, explains the note, is developed by Areti, a company of the Acea Group that manages Rome's electricity grid.
"Since February 1st, customers in Rome have been able to participate in flexibility services. Areti has in fact started the program to activate the utilities that won the first fixed-term auction of the Local Flexibility Market, announced last November by GME on behalf of Areti, which placed 3,000 kW of flexibility resources are available divided into different types of users (industrial, tertiary, residential) for the period February-April 2024. The first user activated through the Local Flexibility Market on the Rome distribution network, explains the note, was a 410 kW system kW of the RomaTre University which will be followed by the progressive launch of the service for all other users, around seventy, distributed in the various neighborhoods of the capital area.
