The operation was carried out on Saturday night and early Sunday morning and included
16 men and 3 women

transferred to a Buenos Aires Government center
, in addition to dismantling six precarious structures installed on the Aeroparque esplanade. as specified in a statement.
The permanence of homeless people in the Jorge Newbery Airport terminal area began in 2023 and there were 160 people sleeping there.
"Given this reality, we worked uninterruptedly, providing them with assistance and offering them alternatives for their situation while ensuring that the operation of the air terminal and the passengers who go there were not interfered with," they indicated from the City.
In the middle of last year, national organizations and the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat of the city of Buenos Aires had already evicted 16 homeless people who were sleeping in the Buenos Aires airport.
"We want an orderly City and we work every day to make that happen. Solving the problem of people experiencing homelessness that accompanies a mental health policy is essential," said the head of Government, Jorge Macri, in a statement. released this morning.
During the weekend they evicted 19 homeless people who were sleeping in Aeroparque.

A group of people were transferred by teams from the Buenos Aires Presente (BAP) program to the Social Inclusion Centers that operate in the City, where they receive comprehensive assistance: care, containment and professional monitoring, personal hygiene items, shower, clothing, food hot, bed, it was indicated.
