The start of a new political chapter for François Bayrou?

It was with a huge sigh of relief that the boss of the MoDem welcomed this Monday, February 5, the announcement of his acquittal by the Paris court in the affair of the European parliamentary assistants of his party.

The suspense lasted until the end, since before the verdict concerning the former Minister of Justice fell, eight defendants, out of the eleven implicated in this case, were found guilty of embezzlement of public funds and sentenced to sentences ranging from 10 to 18 months of suspended prison time and fines of 10,000 to 50,0000 euros accompanied by 2 years of suspended ineligibility.
