When FN MEP Sophie Montel wrote a letter to the Paris prosecutor's office in 2017 to denounce fictitious jobs as parliamentary assistants of MoDem MEPs, it was a counter-fire launched while the FN itself was suspected of employees of the party's permanent staff using European funds.
The National Front then claims to act by “principle of equality”.

Seven years later, the judgment in the MoDem affair, which fell this Monday, February 5, serves the FN, now RN, to take the temperature of its own fate.
Because the party is referred, with Marine Le Pen and 26 other people, to the criminal court in the fall for embezzlement of European public funds and complicity between 2004 and 2016.
