Foreign Minister Israel Katz met in Jerusalem this morning (Monday) with French Foreign Minister Stéphane Sjournat. Katz thanked Sjournat for France's clear support for Israel and its right to defend itself after the events of October 7.
Katz also acknowledged the re-examination of funding for UNRA in the future, this in light of the revelations about the participation of its employees in the October 7 massacre, and clarified that he has begun working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to find alternatives that will take UNRA's place in the "day after" in Gaza .

In addition, he acknowledged France's involvement in the process of transferring the drugs for the abductees in Gaza - but asked his French colleague to put pressure on Qatar to obtain proof that the drugs did reach all the abductees.
Minister Katz emphasized that if a diplomatic solution is not found for the implementation of Resolution 1701 of the UN Security Council for the withdrawal of Hezbollah from southern Lebanon, Israel will act militarily in order to return the evacuated citizens to their homes.
Finally, the ministers agreed to continue working in direct contact with each other in an effort to promote what was said.
