The new edition of the tractor rally in Sachsenkam attracted hundreds of spectators on Sunday.

While some participants celebrated Carnival exuberantly, others became political.

– The year 2024 will be marked by protest marches.

On the one hand there are the farmers' protests, on the other hand there are the demonstrations against political extremism.

In this heated atmosphere, the Sachsenkamer boys' association has decided to largely avoid major political issues in the new edition of the “Traktor Rally”, as chairman Hans Liebhart explained.

Nevertheless, there were some cars in the carnival procession that could have taken part in a political demonstration without major modifications.

And some slogans would have been better suited to a demo.

Around 300 spectators watched the Sachsenkam tractor rally from the side of the road.

The sign “Without subsidy makes Hanomag koan Ton” that hung on a tractor was still something to smile about.

It became clearer on an improvised handwritten poster next to it: “A red-green government without decency and morals is leading us to the Neander Valley.”

The poster on a car a few meters away was hardly less clear: “Hudri Wudri bad primer, mia ham a shitty government”.

The people from Warngau completely dispensed with rhymes and humorous accompaniment and put a sign on their car that read “No to mass asylum accommodation in Warngau/Holzkirchen,” with an illustration of an overcrowded ship.

The people on the wagon had black painted faces and water wings.

Of course, an attack on the climate stickers and the “Last Generation” could not be missed.

Saxony residents sat down on the street in high-visibility vests with the inscription “We are the last”, accompanied by the poster “I don't have an employer, that's why I'm a climate gluer”.

Of course there were also more humorous cars.

Above all, there was one who dealt with the issue that the Sachsenkam fire department had to respond to false alarms several times.

There was smoke coming from a microwave, and several firefighters with fire extinguishers were standing around them, accompanied by the words: “Is that pork bron burning, oh, the whole team is jerking.” The car with girls dressed as hens with the words on it was just plain funny nonsense “Free-range chickens”.

The Hechenbergers had really put in a lot of effort and decorated their car with a “Hechenburg”.

Along the way, participants had to complete tasks such as cutting a tree trunk with a “Wiagsog”.

A number of participants had to struggle with this, which is why it took an hour and a half for the first 13 tractors to complete the 100 meter long route between the starting point at the clubhouse and the church.

The “free-range chickens” on one of the wagons were in great spirits.

Hans Liebhart was completely satisfied.

There were no incidents, the response was very large with 300 spectators, the weather cooperated, “and the people had a great time.

It was great that we were able to revive the tradition." The rally took place in Piesenkam from 1979 to 2012, but at some point the effort became too much for the guys there: "You always have a lot of conditions and you need them more and more people to work.” For example, the TÜV has to accept the tractors and their bodies.

A lot of people are needed to close off the route: “There are simply a lot of obstacles put in your way.” He is therefore grateful to the Piesenkamers for the many tips.

The fact that the floats were dedicated to political issues was also due to the farmers' protests, "which are understandable."
