The Russian ambassador to France Alexei Mechkov was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a diplomatic source said on Monday.

This follows the death of two French humanitarian workers in the Kherson region (Ukraine) after a Russian strike this Friday.

During this summons, Paris will reiterate its condemnation of these Russian strikes and “will also denounce the resurgence of disinformation targeting France”, added the same source, a few days after the Ministry of the Armed Forces identified a “coordinated maneuver by Russia” to spread false information involving France.

The French anti-terrorism prosecution notably opened an investigation, when Emmanuel Macron denounced a “cowardly and unworthy act”.
