Landsberg - Bye bye Play-Offs - direct qualification is over.

In the only game last weekend it was all about the Riverkings not having to play in the pre-play-offs.

But a win against the hosts Schweinfurt was not possible.

The HCL had a few good chances in the first three minutes of the game.

In the fourth minute, however, Schweinfurt turned the previous game on its head when Tomas Cermak coldly converted a counterattack to make it 1-0.

Less than twelve seconds later it was Cermak again who took advantage of a mistake in Landsberg's defense and made it 2-0.

As a result, the Riverkings were no longer able to score as determinedly as they had in the first few minutes.

It took until the eleventh minute of the game before Jonas Schwarzfischer was able to score the 2-1 goal from the crowd in front of the visitors' goal.

After that, both teams repeatedly had good chances, but were unable to score any further goals.

In the second third the game calmed down a little, both teams played a little more controlled from the back.

Less than three minutes had been played when Markus Kerber was able to equalize in his first game for the HCL.

As a result, both teams repeatedly had good chances.

Schweinfurt's import player Tomas Cermak in particular was able to shine again and again.

On the Landsberger side it was Frantisek Wagner and Edgar Protcenko who failed to capitalize on good chances.

So it went into the second break with a score of 2:2.

No consistent defense

HC Landsberg started the final third with the advantage, but didn't take advantage of it and conceded the 2:3 advantage after just 31 seconds, again scored by Tomas Cermak.

In the 46th minute of the game, the Landsberg supporters were able to celebrate.

Lars Grözinger made it 3-3 after a nice pass from Frantisek Wagner.

As a result, the Riverkings played too carelessly up front and didn't defend particularly consistently at the back.

So it happened that Kevin Heckenberger scored out of a commotion in front of the Landsberg goal to make the final score 4:3.

The Riverkings tried until the end to equalize, which would have been enough to take part directly in the play-offs, but all opportunities remained unused.

After the game, Landsberg's coach Martin Hoffmann was extremely disappointed: “We didn't play today as if we really wanted to reach the play-offs.

Schweinfurt deserved to win because they went into the duels with the utmost determination and consistently took advantage of their chances.

We are now looking ahead and preparing intensively for the pre-play-offs against Ulm this week.

We have a very young but good team and of course we think we have good chances against Devils Ulm.

But we have to give it our all.

We will address this clearly again this week!”
