Civil courage, fire brigade, graduation: Finsing's mayor Max Kressirer honors citizens.

Finsing

– Hard-working young ladies and gentlemen, helpful firefighters, courageous neighbors and an enthusiastic platler live in the community of Finsing.

Mayor Max Kressirer honored them all at a ceremony in the town hall.

After the successful clubs and individual athletes (report follows), Kressirer praised the commitment of people in the volunteer fire department.

“'As fast as the fire brigade' they say, and this expression carries with it respect and recognition,” said the mayor.

“Respect for the unconditional willingness to support our fellow citizens regardless of their person and despite the risk to their own lives.

I agree with this respect.”

The fire departments are used not only to fight fires, but also to provide technical assistance in the event of accidents, storm and water damage, in first responder operations, and also as security guards.

“It's nice that we have such active fire departments,” said Kressirer and presented certificates to several active members who have been there for 25 and 40 years.

The courage of Angela and Hubert Hölzl as well as Sabine Krammer was also particularly recognized.

The couple and the young woman were walking independently on a December day when the fire alarm went off in a residential building near Main Street and black smoke billowed outside.

Hubert Hölzl didn't hesitate for long and got an older woman out of the apartment.

When he found out that her husband was still in the house, he ran back in, looked for him in the thick smoke and was able to get him to the door too.

Sabine Krammer had already alerted the fire department there.

The three looked after the elderly couple until the rescue workers arrived.

“The two are doing well again, I only spoke to them on the phone recently,” explained Mayor Kressirer.

In his speech, the town hall chief also made it clear that, according to the fire brigade commander, the elderly couple would hardly have had a chance of survival without the courageous intervention of the first responders.

“They were in the right place at the right time and did the right thing,” Kressirer praised the courageous trio.

In the cultural sector, Rebecca Käsmaier from the traditional costume club “Goldachtaler” Eicherloh was honored this year.

“With her commitment, she contributed a lot to the culture in our community,” explained Kressirer.

“She has delighted us almost every year with her discipline, her determination, her ambition and her commitment, and I would like to thank and recognize her for that.”

At the Isargaupreisplattln, the young lady won first place in her 14 to 16 year old age group and thus qualified to take part in the “Bavarian Lion”.

There, too, she impressed the judges and took first place in her age group.

You really have to appreciate that, emphasizes the local boss.
