Winter service: Pastetten local councilor Rehmann complains about the harsh tone of some citizens.

Pastetten – Pastetten local councilor Leo Rehmann (FWE) vented his anger at the meeting.

“In December after the snow chaos, I was at the construction yard and spoke to the employees.

“It was really shameful what I heard,” complained Rehmann.

On the night of December 2nd, heavy snowfall made roads and paths almost impassable.

The winter service had its hands full making the most important places passable again.

“This was an exceptional situation, the Erding district was close to declaring a disaster,” said Rehmann.

When he now hears that people complained because the snow plow blocked the driveway and that there were complaints because the plow made such a noise at 4 a.m. that it woke up children, he thinks an appeal to the citizens is necessary .

“The people who do this job get up at two in the morning, drive half the night and half the day and then have to take insults.

“That’s shameful,” said Rehmann, receiving applause from the committee.

Mayor Peter Deischl (FWE) agreed with Rehmann.

He himself had to answer a lot of complaints on the phone that Saturday morning in the town hall: “It wasn’t nice.” In the time that some people spent calling or stopping by to complain, he would have had a snow shovel in his hand can take and clear the sidewalk.

Roswitha Bayer-Siegling (FWE) reported similar experiences during postal voting, where citizens complained “unduly” on the phone and became insulting.

Horst Ippisch (FWE) referred to a newspaper report from Zorneding in which the mayor had complained about the rude tone towards winter service employees: "It doesn't have to be that way." He suggested that the work of the winter service, which works day and night was to present it “appreciatively” in the newsletter: “That would be important.” hd
