The Minister of Foreign Affairs continues his trip to the Middle East.
“The violence by the settlers

must stop,” said Stéphane Séjourné from Jerusalem, Israel, this Monday afternoon.
These statements follow an interview with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Concerning the situation in Gaza, the head of diplomacy estimated that “nothing [could] justify” the “tragedy” faced by the inhabitants of the Palestinian territory.
“We demand respect for international humanitarian law by all, an immediate and lasting ceasefire and a massive entry of humanitarian aid,” launched the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“Gaza is Palestinian land”
Stéphane Séjourné insisted that there could “under no circumstances be a forced displacement of Palestinians outside of Gaza or the West Bank”.
According to him, the “future of Gaza is inseparable from that of the West Bank”.
“We must prepare for this future by supporting the Palestinian Authority which must renew itself and redeploy as soon as possible in the Gaza Strip.

Without a political solution, there will be no just and lasting peace in the Middle East,” continued Stéphane Séjourné, for whom “the resolution of this conflict requires a Palestinian state.”

Stéphane Séjourné began his trip to the Middle East with a visit to Egypt this weekend.
He had already said "refuse" any "forced displacement" towards Egypt of Gazans, fleeing the bombings of the war between Israel and Hamas and now crowding at the gates of Sinai.
He then went to Jordan.
Stéphane Séjourné must now go to Lebanon this Tuesday.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday as part of a new tour aimed at encouraging a truce in the deadly fighting between Israel and Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip. .
This is the first stop on Antony Blinken's fifth trip to the region since the war began on October 7.
He must then travel to Qatar, Egypt, Israel and the occupied West Bank.
