The Traubing Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

Traubing

– The Traubing Volunteer Fire Department joins the group of volunteer fire departments that are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year.

The volunteer fire department was founded in Traubing on January 12, 1874.

At the annual general meeting last Saturday, board member Peter Scheifele got the members in the mood for the anniversary year.

Accordingly, the anniversary should be properly celebrated on Sunday, May 5th with the blessing of two new flag ribbons.

With 256 members, the club has currently reached a new high.

The number of active members has grown to 40 and that of the youth group to eight, which Commander Dr.

Franz Matheis was particularly pleased.

In his annual report, he discussed the 51 missions completed last year and reported 543 hours of mission and 1,546 hours of training.

This time too, around 40 percent of the operations were due to false alarms from fire alarm systems.

A nuisance that will hopefully be curbed somewhat by the municipality of Tutzing's recent revision of the fire service cost regulations, he said.

Tutzing's new mayor Ludwig Horn conveyed the thanks and recognition of the community and the local council for the voluntary work done, praised the good youth work and assured the fire department of continued support in the future.

This year, a new TSF-L (portable pump vehicle logistics) is to be purchased for the Traubing fire department.

This is a modular vehicle that can be loaded with different roll containers depending on the type of use.

Next year, a personnel transport vehicle will be purchased to replace the multi-purpose vehicle that is being retired.

In addition, the switch to digital alarms is starting, so new radio alarm clocks have to be purchased for all firefighters.

Alexander Bartsch was promoted to chief firefighter in the meeting.

Johannes Kammermeier and Stefan Resch were honored for 25 years of service.

Rudolf Popp and Martin Wild have already served 40 years in the fire service and received the club's golden badge of honor from board member Scheifele.

An important part of the annual general meeting was also taken up by the revision of the association's statutes, an important part of which was updated.

The quorum and the summons modalities were newly regulated, and the female names of the club positions were added.

The new statutes were unanimously approved and can now be forwarded to the district court for registration.

With the words “It was a nice evening among friends,” Scheifele closed the official part of the entertaining meeting after three and a half hours.
