The level of the Kochelsee must be reduced to a minimum.
The reason is the extensive renovation of the outlet into the Loisach near Kochel.

Kochel - The Walchensee power plant was built more than 100 years ago and fed electricity into the grid for the first time on January 26, 1924. Over the years, the power of the water has affected the stone set at the outlet of the Kochelsee and caused erosion.
The stone wave in Kochelsee now needs to be renovated, says operator Uniper Kraftwerke.
The construction work costs around 500,000 euros and lasts six weeks, from the beginning of February to the end of March.
For this purpose, the Kochelsee will be lowered to the minimum level, according to the company.
Important for regulating the water level of the Kochelsee
The stone wave, around 50 meters long and 50 meters wide, is used to regulate the water level of Lake Kochel.
The renovation should allow the water level to continue to be controlled via the outlet into the Loisach and the Loisach bypass canal next to it.
The work will take place below and next to the stone threshold in Kochelsee, the press release continues.
Costs of 500,000 euros - helicopter brings material
In order to be able to deliver the building materials such as hydraulic stones (2000 tons) and gravel (1000 tons), a gravel access road from the island will be built between the two outlets.
The material is delivered from Schlehdorf via the state road St2062.
Over three days, the building materials used to renovate the area next to the stone threshold will be brought in by helicopter.
The material for the gravel driveway will be distributed in the Loisach after the construction work, Uniper informs.
