The water rescue service, police and fire brigade are searching the Middle Isar Canal on Sunday.
There is even a helicopter in use.
Wartenberg
– A large contingent of rescue workers searched the Mittlere-Isar Canal for a suspected kayaker who had had an accident on Sunday.
In the end, the driverless boat was recovered between the local connecting bridges near Thenn and Wartenberg.
Torn cords were discovered on it, which, according to the Erding police station, indicates that the moored kayak broke loose - and that no boat accident occurred here.
Two people independently reported the boat adrift around 4:35 p.m.
Since it could not be ruled out that a person was in a helpless position in the water, a large number of rescue workers were called.
The Erdinger police, the Wartenberg fire department, the Erding and Moosburg water rescue services, two ambulance crews and an emergency doctor immediately set off.
A police helicopter was also called in to check the situation from the air.
The entire area between the Eitting hydroelectric power station and the Pfrombach hydroelectric power station was searched from the air and from the water, and fire brigade posts were set up on all the bridges over the Isar Canal.
However, the search remained fruitless.
Why the kayak ended up drifting abandoned on the Isar Canal cannot currently be conclusively clarified.
It was treated as a lost property and taken to the Erding police station.
