BRASILIA - The number of Italian tourists choosing Brazil grew by around 50% in 2023, the year in which the South American country broke its record for international tourist arrivals.
According to data from Embratur, the federal government agency for the promotion of tourism, last year 129.4 thousand visitors from Italy arrived at Brazilian airports, with an increase of 49.10% compared to 2022 (86, 8 thousand).
Italy ranks tenth in the ranking of the main countries of origin of international travelers to Brazil, equal to 2.2% of the total.
