Three people were violently beaten leaving a bar in the Terreaux district on the night of Thursday to Friday, according to information relayed by the leader of the anti-fascist movement Jeune Garde and confirmed to Le

by the Lyon prosecutor's office.

Acts committed

“due to the victim’s belonging or non-belonging to an ethnic group, nation, race or religion”

, specifies the public prosecutor.

“A dozen far-right activists began to attack three young people leaving a bar.

Then quickly began to beat them and stab them several times

,” says Raphaël Arnault, spokesperson for the Young Guard.

One of the victims was prescribed total incapacity for work for more than eight days, the Lyon prosecutor's office told Le

For the other two, the ITT is less than eight days.

The specter of the ultra-right

Two individuals were arrested and taken into police custody.

Submitted on Saturday and placed in pre-trial detention, they are being prosecuted for carrying a weapon and aggravated violence.

They will be tried immediately on Tuesday February 6 before the Lyon criminal court.

According to our information, one of the suspects is Sinisha M., an identity activist formerly spokesperson for the small ultra-right group Les Remparts and already convicted by the Lyon courts for participation in a banned demonstration.

Contacted, the group told Le

Figaro

that it has no longer been part of its ranks since last September.

BFM Lyon specifies that the second suspect belongs to this small group.

For his part, Raphaël Arnault calls for the closure of the premises La Traboule and L'Agogée, the bar and boxing gym formerly operated by Génération identitaire (GI) and taken over after its dissolution by Les Remparts.

A request already made by several elected officials, notably the constituency deputy, Thomas Rudigoz, the day after another attack that occurred last November, the same evening as the attack on a pro-Palestinian conference by ultra-right activists.

The group Les Remparts was born from the ashes of GI when it dissolved.

On its website, it presents itself as a

“civilizational rampart”

organizing

“rooted aperitifs”
