WhatsApp updates business features: New commands now available for Cloud API users to improve customer interactions on iOS and Android.

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging service, does not stand still and is continually expanding its offering with new features to provide both private users and business customers with an efficient communication experience.

The latest update represents one such innovation: the introduction of business account commands that run through the Cloud API.

Most recently, the company allowed users to change the color of the theme on WhatsApp.

In 2024, WhatsApp users could face some changes - some of which may not be to everyone's liking.

What are the shortcuts and when are they available?

The command function allows companies to interact with their customers using preset text commands.

These commands become visible when a user enters the slash (/) in a chat with a company.

They are designed to simplify and speed up communication.

With up to 30 definable commands, each limited to 32 characters, business customers can design their service tailored and efficient.

The feature is currently rolling out and is available to customers who have installed the latest versions of WhatsApp for iOS and Android.

However, it should be noted that this feature is currently exclusive to business accounts that use the official WhatsApp Cloud API.

When it comes to security, the police are currently warning about scammers on WhatsApp, as NEXTG.tv reports.

Improved customer interactions

The goal of the new function is to optimize the exchange between companies and customers.

Similar to the quick reply option for standard business accounts, the commands allow even more targeted communication.

For the customer, this means an increase in convenience and efficiency, as the full text does not have to be entered.

Advantages of the command function

The command function represents a significant innovation in customer communication and offers companies a tool to improve the user experience and interaction with the customer.

In particular, this can shorten the response time to customer inquiries and personalize the interaction.

Although it is a new feature and it might be challenging to find already adapted business solutions, the potential for increased efficiency and improved customer loyalty is great.

Over time, the introduction of these features is expected to become a worthwhile investment for companies looking for optimized communication channels.

Quick replies on WhatsApp have also been optimized with the reply bar.
