At the stand of the Bruck Bakers' Guild you can get an insight into the practical activities.

Getting out of the warm bed early in the morning to do something for your professional future: that's what numerous students did again this year.

At various stands on the career information market they were able to get a theoretical and practical insight into the activities.

And the same applies to young people from Bruck: It’s better to speak in person than search online.

Fürstenfeldbruck

– Sunday morning, shortly after 10 a.m.: Instead of sleeping in and staying comfortably at home, twelve-year-old Ronja Langscheit from Maisach chooses to go to the Sparkasse building on Oskar-von-Miller-Straße.

The secondary school student looks around with her mother at the 44th career information market (BIM).

“I still have a few years left, but with the variety of professions you can't get interested in them early enough,” says the student as she looks around at the Brucker hairdressing guild's information stand.

She doesn’t have any specific career aspirations yet.

“I’m open to everything,” says the twelve-year-old.

Look around for an internship or apprenticeship

Karina Zmall (14), Anna Bassemir (14) and Annalaura Massidda (14) from the Maisach middle school are also enthusiastic about BIM - also with a view to an internship.

Karina and Anna are interested in social professions, while their friend Annalaura would like to become an automobile saleswoman.

Domenik Maier from the Puchheim secondary school is a repeat offender on the career information market.

The 17-year-old is taking part for the second time.

And his career aspirations are already becoming clearer.

At the carpenters' guild stand, he had an intensive conversation with the head master Andreas Obermaier about training to become a carpenter.

Young people value personal contact

Although he has already completed two internships as a parquet layer and garden landscaper, he still enjoys working with wood.

“At the end you see what you have done yourself.

That’s what I particularly like about being a carpenter.”

He particularly appreciates the personal contact at the career information market.

This is a significant advantage over searching for a training occupation on the Internet, explains 17-year-old Maier.

Students were able to obtain detailed information about the various career profiles at a total of around 50 career information stands.

BIM is particularly important in times like these, emphasized Frank Opitz, the Sparkasse's CEO, at the opening.

All companies, including the savings bank, suffer from a shortage of skilled workers and workers, says Opitz.

That's why it's particularly important that companies present themselves, personally on site, person to person and not on an anonymous platform.

This makes it all the more important to bring young people into contact with companies and get them excited about careers.

Professional information market is an important platform

Due to its long tradition and popularity, the career information market is now more than ever the first address for career orientation in the district.

It is the platform that brings training companies and young people together and where potential applicants are informed in detail about training and internships.

The deputy district administrator Martina Drechsler described the BIM as an excellent tool for school leavers who can get the best information about what career they would like to pursue.

For Bettina Zellhuber, deputy district master craftsman and head of the hairdressers' guild, the event is also an indispensable platform for strengthening young talent in the region.
