Prince Harry's resignation
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, stepped back from their duties in the British Crown in early 2020 and announced their intention to be financially independent and live between the United Kingdom and the United States.
At the time, Queen Elizabeth II said in a statement that she understood the couple's desire to have
"a different approach" to their lives.
The decision was presented some time after they moved away from the media spotlight.
Despite their decision, both retained their noble titles.
