What will happen to the old Rotter rectory?

The Rott local council has now looked into the future of the historic building.

Rott

- Refugees will soon be moving in on the upper floor of the old rectory in Rott, which for many years housed the family doctor's practice, which has now been moved to the medical center, after some renovation work has been completed (we have reported).

But this is only intended as temporary use.

In the long term, the municipality of Rott wants to breathe new life into the listed building, which currently houses rural youth on the ground floor.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

“Even though the upper floor has only been rented to the district office for refugees for two years, planning for the entire building can now begin,” said Rott’s mayor Fritz Schneider, before architect Christoph Mayr from Buchloe gave the council committee his inventory of the building over 200 years ago old building.

Good substance

“We examined the building and also the foundation.

“That doesn’t look bad,” Mayr explained about the old rectory on the village square, which dates back to the Baroque period and has a partial basement.

“Each floor has a comfortable room height of three meters, and the roof structure is well built,” praised Mayr.

All news and stories can also be found on the Schongauer Nachrichten Facebook page.

“We did not detect any asbestos in any alarming quantities,” explained Mayr.

“Woodworms were not noticed either,” added Schneider.

“There are different windows, some of which are from the same time as the building,” explained Mayr, who described the old vicarage as a “beautiful building.”

“The inventory has now created the basis with which you can continue working,” Mayr concluded his remarks, which he also sent to the council in writing in detail.

Waiting for funding programs

“We have already submitted an application for funding, but have not yet received any feedback,” explained Mayor Schneider.

There was also a grant of 9,000 euros for the architect's study, which cost 12,000 euros.

“We now have to think about how we want to use the building,” said Schneider, who himself brought up the municipal administration, a meeting room or a village café as possible options.

According to him, a precise definition is not yet necessary and has not yet been made.

“We can first wait and see what kind of funding programs are possible,” explained Schneider.

The local council, which also officially acknowledged the report, unanimously agreed with this.
