Hadar Golan, the mother of Ariel Biton, who was murdered at a Nova party, today (Monday) criticized the treatment of her family following the loss of her son in the massacre on October 7, during a Knesset debate.
"They gave me the body and they didn't even let me open the bag," she repeated at a hearing at the National Security Committee, which dealt with the families of those murdered at the party in Bari.
"I want to know why my son died, he is not a cat in a bag."
"I don't call it a nova disaster but a nova failure," she said.
"The first omission was that the party was approved by the army and the police.
The second omission is that they left them to die like this, they don't know why they died, who they called.
At the level of mother and child it kills.
I am unable to function.
I was also hospitalized and every day it is more difficult.
The third mistake was that they gave me the body and didn't even let me open the bag.
"Give us back our dignity and stop this," she pleaded.
"Next week my daughter is enlisting, I don't want her to give anything to this country that abandoned us."
"My son is not a cat in a bag."

The representative of the police, Chief of Staff Moti Schiff, from the Investigations Division in Lahav, said at the hearing that they "have been accompanying the families since October 7th.
This is the most complex and difficult criminal investigation that the police have encountered since the establishment of the state." According to him, the police will set up a new system that will help trace the sequence of events in the massacre at the party. "This is not an easy event for the police who sit for four months, and receive calls at any hour at any time, all for another lack of information and evidence
There is no detail that we know that the families did not know because it is your right to know.
But unfortunately we don't always know," he added.

The chairman of the committee for national security, MK Zvika Fogel, said in the conclusion of the discussion: "There was no response to the festivals. There must be an official and show that this country also has a heart and not just money, that will be the committee's recommendation and guidance to the government. The restoration of a body that will respond to this. We will have to do something different and respond to the families and victims of the festivals."
