First tested in the summer of 2022 at the exceptional price of €9 per month, the Deutschlandticket was then relaunched in May 2023. Without obligation, the ticket can be purchased online, at ticket counters or at Deutsche Bahn distributors and can be terminated monthly.

Its success (11 million subscribers in the first six months), which results in train saturation on certain days, led the government to consider increasing the price to €69 or even €89 per month.

Its price is ultimately maintained at €49 at least until the end of 2024.
